Learning to make sneakers is too expensive. The primary goal of Scratch Customs as a web presence is to lower the barrier of entry to sneaker craft by providing links to free, trusted learning resources, and free or affordable tools of the trade (including free digital downloads of my own in-house patterns).
In learning the craft of making shoes you will also be mastering skills that can be applied to restore and repair for clients.

The accessibility issue.
While the growing popularity of sneaker craft over the last few years has resulted in more classes, and access to more accessible pattern and last options, the barrier to entry is still set extremely high due to cost. Sneaker craft has gifted me a second creative awakening, skills that I can use to generate an additional source of income for my family, and being a part of the most wholesome and supportive global community of folks I’ve ever met. That should be available to everyone.
